Booking your 2021 holiday? Try the luxurious Polmanter self catering accommodation in St Ives

30th October 2020

Love the atmosphere of a holiday park, but prefer not to stay under canvas? At Polmanter, we have the perfect suggestion for you: choose between our two modern, sophisticated apartments and cosy, country cottage (with hot tub!) and enjoy all the benefits our touring park has to offer.

Whether you stay in Kerenza, Demelza or Morwenna, here’s why Polmanter’s self catering accommodation makes the perfect base for your St Ives holiday.

It’s the best of both worlds

We do appreciate that camping’s not for everyone, and as Polmanter is a touring park, we don’t have any static caravans for hire. However, we’re sure that the campsite’s five-star facilities, from the outdoor heated swimming pool to the treatment rooms, can be appreciated by anyone; and our safe, family-friendly site is the perfect place for kids to enjoy an energetic, outdoorsy holiday.

If you stay in one of Polmanter’s self-catered properties, you’ll have access to everything the campsite has to offer during the touring season (April-October) – without having to compromise on comfort.

The whole family can enjoy St Ives holidays

Planning a clan get-together? If, like us, you have a family made up from campers and non-campers, Polmanter’s new self-catering offer is an excellent solution. Those who have a caravan or like to sleep in a tent can book a pitch, and those whose idea of a good holiday involves fully equipped kitchens and sofas can check into luxury accommodation.

The Kerenza and Demelza apartments sleep up to 4 guests across two bedrooms, plus an infant in a cot. If there’s a few more of you to accommodate, take a look at Morwenna – a 6 sleeper across two en-suite bedrooms. Not only can a larger family enjoy this brand new property, but it also boasts a hot tub in its private garden.

For electric car owners, all 3 of our properties feature a 7kW universal charging socket – a rarity among St Ives holiday homes. You’ll also find a shed on the Morwenna driveway to store wetsuits, surfboards and bikes.

If accessibility is important to any of your party, Demelza has superb facilities including an accessible bathroom with handrails, personal alarm and adapted shower. Both apartments have ramped access – perfect for wheelchairs, pushchairs and prams.

If you’re travelling with a little one, we can provide a cot and highchair too.

Contemporary and wonderfully comfortable – including hot tub heaven!

Picture this. You’ve had a great day on the beach. Your beach kit is in the washing machine, and you’ve had a power shower while singing along to sounds from the bathroom’s Bluetooth speaker. Then it’s either cooking up some of Cornwall’s finest produce in the kitchen and curling up in front of the smart TV, or firing up the barbie and enjoying a sundowner on your private terrace.

And if you’re staying in Morwenna, a soak in the hot tub to finish the day off, with a glass of wine in hand.

How can you possibly resist? The combination of comfort and contemporary facilities is just what’s needed for a relaxing break.

We’re only a mile from St Ives – but you’ll have a parking space!

Whatever time of year you come, a massive bonus about self-catering at Polmanter is that you won’t have to drive through St Ives! We’re located just over 1 mile from the town, so a leisurely down-hill stroll along footpaths and a quiet country lane will take you into the centre, taking around half an hour. Each property has its own private parking spaces, and during the main season, you’ll be able to use the shuttle bus service straight into town. In the winter, you can still pick up a public bus to Halsetown, plus parking in St Ives is easier. Alternatively, local taxi companies offer a discounted rate for our guests.

Available all year round

The campsite’s season is April-October – but Polmanter’s self-catering accommodation is available to book all year. Winter breaks are available from November – March, including short stays, as well as Christmas and New Year availability. It’s peaceful and chilled-out in West Cornwall out of season, and it’s a wonderful time for St Ives holidays.

Facilities such as the swimming pool and The Stable Bar & Restaurant are only open during the camping season, and may be closed or have reduced opening hours outside of school holidays, so please check with Reception when booking what facilities will be available to you. However, you’ll still have access to the outdoor playgrounds, dog exercise field and sports area – and of course, those lovely footpaths from the campsite to St Ives and the coast are always open.

Polmanter is a great base for exploring West Cornwall

Being located 1 mile from St Ives has its advantages, as it’s only a short drive to the A30 and the main line station at St Erth. If you’re a keen walker, there are so many wonderful footpaths around Polmanter, and it’s not far to the famous South West Coast Path.

World-class attractions including St Michael’s Mount and the Minack Theatre are nearby; and of course, there’s the famous Tate St Ives and those tropical-looking beaches in our lovely local town.

You can bring your dog

All our properties are dog-friendly, and we’ll accept one or two well-behaved dogs for a small extra charge. Your furry family member will have access to the large dog exercise field, as well as the campsite’s doggy shower and waste bins. Not all St Ives accommodation accept dogs, but as dog owners ourselves, we know how important it is to be able to share your holiday with your pet.

If you stay with us out of season, you’ll be able to walk your dog on all those beautiful beaches in and around St Ives as restrictions ease.
