Inside our tents

Bedrooms: Two sleeping areas: a double bedroom, and a triple room with a double bed and a single bunk above in an L-shape – a great layout for families or a group of five making the most of the space.

Living space: An open-plan living and kitchen area with comfortable seating, TV and WiFi. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, microwave, air-fryer and fridge with ice box – everything you need for breakfasts, packed lunches and easy evenings in. Full electric throughout, with lighting and plenty of power sockets.

Outside: Your own private decking with outdoor furniture – perfect with a coffee in the morning, or a glass of something as the sun goes down over the Cornish countryside.

A few things to keep in mind

Towels: These aren’t provided, so please pack your own.

Bathrooms: The tents don’t have private bathrooms – a deliberate choice, because it gives more generous living space inside. And you won’t have far to go: our luxury heated amenity block is directly opposite, with private shower cubicles, consistently hot water and the exceptional standard of cleanliness we’re known for across the park.

Cooking: The tents don’t have a hob or oven, but between the air fryer — great for everything from a cooked breakfast to crispy chicken and roasted veg — the microwave, toaster and kettle, most meals are easily covered.

If a private bathroom, full kitchen and more living space are important to you, our self-catering properties – Senara, Morwenna, Kerenza and Demelza – might suit you better, and all four include what the tents don’t. Details at polmanter.com/self-catering-acommodation-st-ives

The six new tents are located in Morvah field.

Yes – we are a dog-friendly holiday site in Cornwall, and allow up to two dogs per tent. Dogs are welcome inside the tent and on the decking. A supplement applies: £25 for a short break and £35 for a week, per dog. In communal areas of the park dogs must be kept on leads. Please see our terms and conditions for our full dog policy.

What are the glamping tent check-in and check-out times?

Check-in: From 3.00 PM on your arrival day.
Check-out: By 10.00 AM on your departure day.
During the main season (mid-May to mid-September), arrivals and departures are on Friday or Mondays only.

Can we have a BBQ?

Yes! Each safari tent comes with a stand for disposable BBQs which must be used on the decking and never inside the tent.
Or you can use your own BBQ on the lawn next to your tent – raised off the grass to avoid damage.
Please ensure you dispose of the BBQ safely once it has fully cooled, to safely enjoy outdoor cooking while glamping in Cornwall

Can I book a short break at your Cornwall safari tents?

Absolutely! While a full week stay offers the best value, our short break options make it easy to enjoy a getaway without committing to seven nights:

– Friday-to-Monday: Long weekend
– Monday-to-Friday: Midweek break

From 21st September to 4th October, we offer flexible stays with any-day arrival, a minimum of 2 nights and prices starting from £300 for 2 nights (£65 per extra night), or £600 for a full week. Autumn is a peaceful and scenic time to visit St Ives, with fewer crowds and beautiful Cornish countryside.

Are the safari tents suitable for young children?

Yes! Our tents sleep up to five guests. The triple bedroom – with a double bed and a single bunk – works perfectly for families, making ideal for family glamping in Cornwall.

– A travel cot can be set up in the living area (please bring your own).
– Bathroom facilities are shared via the amenity block opposite the tents.

Is there parking at the tent?

Yes – each tent has a dedicated parking space next to your accommodation, so you can easily unload luggage and enjopy a stress-free stay.

Can we have a campfire?

No, Campfires are not permitted at Polmanter, including on the tent decking. A disposable BBQ on the provided stand on the deck (or your own BBQ raised off the grass next to your tent) is the recommended alternative for outdoor cooking.

What do I need to bring?

Our tents are well-equipped, but here’s what you’ll need to pack:

  • Towels for showering and beach trips
  • Food and drinks – kitchen includes kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, air-fryer and ice box (no hob). The on-site Stable Bar & Restaurant is available for evening meals.
  • Dog bedding – if bringing your pet, bring their own bed
  • Personal toiletries – amenity block provides hand soap, but bring your own for other essentials

We provide bedding, linen, TV, WiFi, outdoor furniture, and a stand for disposable BBQs, so just arrive ready to relax.
