Safari tent heating
The tents are fitted with infrared heating panels, powered during the evening and early morning to take the chill off.
As this is a canvas tent, the panels aren’t designed to heat the space to the same temperature as a house, but they aim to make it a few degrees warmer when you need it most.
The panels heat the people and objects in the room directly rather than warming the air, so they should feel effective quickly and run more economically than traditional radiators. They are hot to touch when active, so please take care, and please don’t place or hang anything on the panels – this is a fire risk.
The panels are powered from around 5.30am-8.30am and 7pm-midnight. When the green light is visible behind the panel, it’s heating, outside of these hours, the panel is not powered, so you will not see a green light – please let us know if they aren’t working during the hours above, and we’ll get someone to take a look for you. If you’d prefer not to use the heating or an individual panel, simply switch it off using the isolator switch on the wall nearby.
