Travelling from Polmanter

There’s no better place to explore Cornwall… Polmanter is just a mile and a half away from lovely St Ives (and our dedicated bus service makes this such an easy trip). The campsite feels beautifully rural, set in green fields and gently rolling hills; however within a few minutes, you’re on the A30, and Cornwall stretches out before you…

St Ives’ car parks can get pretty busy in the summer, so leave your wheels at Polmanter and pick up a bus from the campsite into town.

Costing just £2 per adult (sorry, no bus passes), £1 per child, and £5.30 for a family of up to 2 adults and 4 children, the bus leaves from the touring park entrance and goes right into the centre of St Ives. Schedules vary by time of the year, but the service runs regularly through the day until after 7pm in late May and June, and last bus returns to Polmanter around 10pm at night from mid-July to early September.

If you want to explore further by public transport, take our bus into town, then pick up a service bus from the depot at the Malakoff. Look out for the open-top bus in the summer, which will take you to Land’s End, Marazion or Penzance.

St Ives has a branch line railway station, which passes through Carbis Bay and Lelant before reaching the mainline station at St Erth.

You have a choice of two footpaths from Polmanter into St Ives. Please ask for directions and a map at Reception when you arrive. They can also give you advice on the best cycle routes. Have a look on the Sustrans website for some wonderful Cornish cycle paths.
