Music at Polmanter

After a busy day out exploring West Cornwall, what could be more relaxing than an evening in Polmanter’s bar, chilling out to the sounds of live music?

We have a selection of local singers and musicians that join us from June to mid September for laid-back tunes and acoustic sessions. For 2026, this includes Jack Kessell, Liam Jordan, Toby Webb, Jo McNab and Jenny Bishop.

Be sure to get a seat nice and early, as these Friday sets have become a real highlight for many of our regular guests.

Games in the Bar

Who can resist a good old game of Bingo? Come to the Stable Bar on Thursday evenings for some retro fun, from 8pm. Play for a line or a full house and you could win a cash prize, whilst helping to raise money for local charities.

On Tuesday evenings, join us for Quiz Night at 8pm. Quiz Master Amy puts your general knowledge to the test with a fun mix of questions. Entry is just £1 per person, with cash prizes up for grabs while raising money for charity.

On Wednesday afternoons – from 22nd July to 26th August – the kids take over. Vicky from Just 4 Kids Entertainment hosts a children’s party from 3-5pm, complete with much-loved party games and plenty of dancing. It’s held in the restaurant, so Mum and Dad can watch the fun while relaxing with a drink…

Playtime – whatever the weather

Of course, every day’s a party when you’re under ten and on your summer holidays. We have two outdoor playgrounds, one suitable for littlies, and a larger, adventure-style one for older kids.

On damper days, the kids can let off steam in Polmanter’s indoor soft play area. It’s suitable for a range of ages, with a cute little baby area and a climbing wall for adventurous older kids. There are also tables and chairs for supervising parents – much more comfortable than watching them on the slides in a rainy field…

And for older kids…

If you’re here with teens or older kids, our games room is a popular hang-out. Part of the Stable Bar complex, it’s recently had a refurb, creating a comfortable and contemporary space. There are two pool tables, table tennis and comfy seats.

We’d also like to reassure teenagers that yes, Polmanter has WiFi. It’s provided by Camping Connect, and is totally free!

Sports at Polmanter

You can hire a tennis court for an hour for £5, and balls and racquets can be hired from Reception for £2.50. There are two all-weather courts at Polmanter – and although we say so ourselves, you’ll be hard-pushed to find courts anywhere else with such stunning views.

Children can also take advantage of free tennis lessons on a Tuesday morning, from 21st July – 25th August. Our tennis coach Claudio holds three half an hour sessions (9.30-11am), giving some quick fire tips and practise on becoming a tennis pro!

If you want a game for the whole family, try the putting green (at the far end of the adventure playground). The putters and balls are kept at Reception, and are free to borrow.

For more free-form sports, head to the sports field at the top of the site. Some great football tournaments spring up here – there’s always someone to kick a ball about with. The field also features a football golf course, a cricket practice net, and with its wide open space, it’s perfect for kite flying on a breezy day.

Then there’s one of Polmanter’s star attractions – the outdoor heated swimming pool. Serious swimmers will be pleased to know that we hold an adults-only session every morning (9am-10am), giving you the chance to bang out a few lengths before it gets busy.

And relax…

Activities don’t have to be high-octane. You can simply lie on a lounger by the pool. Borrow a novel from our bookswap scheme and find a quiet spot to read. There’s pure joy to be found in these moments of stillness, too.
