Polmanter’s Touring Holiday Protection Plan

3rd March 2021

It’s been a year of unexpected disruptions – and many people are understandably worried about their holiday plans. We’ve increasingly been asked about cancellation protection in the past, even more so over the last year, and therefore recognised it was something we needed to look into.

We want our guests to have peace of mind, so we’ve developed our own Holiday Protection Plan (HPP), which includes a level of cover for COVID-related cancellations.

For just £2.50 per pitch per night, you know you won’t lose out financially if you have to cancel your holiday at Polmanter – and you can look forward to your next stay.

Our Holiday Protection Plan

Suddenly, there seem to be so many more reasons why a holiday might have to be cancelled, and insurance and protection cover has had to keep up with that. So, at Polmanter we decided to offer our own protection plan for our touring guests.

In summary the protection covers you and your named party for;

  •  Sickness preventing travel in a member of your party – including illness or the requirement to self isolate due to Coronavirus
  •  redundancy
  •  jury service
  •  or death of a member of the party or an immediate relative

It also offers a level of cover if you need to cancel your holiday for another reason.

Please note, this isn’t insurance – in some situations, travel insurance may be able to provide you with a higher level of cover. We would recommend considering both options and making a decision based on your personal requirements.

COVID-related cancellation cover

If you have to cancel because you or one of your party has had a positive COVID-19 test result or has been asked to self-isolate, you’ll get a full refund (after the cost of the Plan has been deducted).

The other great thing about this plan is that you can cancel right up until the holiday start date without losing out.  Just contact us as soon as possible with proof of your test result or requirement to self-isolate. This covers everyone named on your booking.

Our standard terms and conditions cover you against national and local lockdowns but not individual COVID-related reasons. You need additional cover for these.

What else is included in our Holiday Protection Plan

COVID isn’t the only thing that can disturb your holiday. Our HPP also covers you for other illnesses that can prevent travel, or the death of a close relative. The other unavoidable occurrences covered by our plan are jury service and redundancy.

The plan can also offer protection against other unavoidable cancellations, with the minimum of a 60% refund 7 days or less before the holiday start date. Please get in touch with us to find out more, or read the full break down of the refunds available dependent on when you cancel and your circumstances.

When to take out your Holiday Protection Plan

It’s easiest to take it out when you book your holiday at Polmanter. However, provided you haven’t paid the full balance of your holiday yet, you can add it at any time up to 6 weeks prior to your arrival date.

Log into the Guest Area of our website. Select View Booking then Update Guest Details. You’ll see and Add Extras option, and our Holiday Protection Plan is in this menu.

You’ll need other travel insurance if…

Currently, our Protection Plan is for touring bookings only, not for our self-catering accommodation. If you’re not staying on a pitch, we advise taking out travel insurance – just check what their COVID policies are first.

Our HPP just covers the cost of your stay at Polmanter. So, if you need cancellation cover for any other aspect of your holiday (overnight stopovers, cattery fees etc), you’ll need separate travel insurance.

Find out more about our HPP

If you’d like to know more about our Touring Holiday Protection Plan, you can read the full HPP terms and conditions on our website.

Like all protection plans, we hope you won’t have to use it, and that we’ll see you here soon, safe and well. However, having a back-up plan in case you need it can really help reduce the stress.
