Introducing Senara: our newest self catering property at Polmanter

After months of planning and renovations, it’s nearly time to launch our stunning new holiday cottage.

 

Situated in the heart of the site, Senara will join our three other self catering properties – Demelza, Kerenza and Morwenna. This holiday cottage sleeps up to 6 people, plus an infant in a cot, across three bedrooms and has its own courtyard garden, BBQ and hot tub. Come and take a sneak peak…

Senara: our biggest renovation to date

After a successful renovation of Morwenna cottage back in 2020, we were excited when the opportunity to renovate the bungalow came about and we could add another large property to our self catering portfolio.

With an unassuming exterior, there is so much space inside to make use of, and for that reason we decided on a full remodel to turn this dated bungalow into a luxury holiday home. The floorplan was totally redesigned and the outside was fully landscaped, to create an outdoor living space that flows from the kitchen diner out onto a courtyard patio, with the added extras of an outdoor kitchen area for BBQs and a 6-person hot tub.

This has been no mean feat, but we love a challenge here at Polmanter – and we don’t do things by half! We’re lucky to have a skilled team of local tradesman that have worked with us over many projects and joined us again for Senara.

In terms of naming this fourth property, we continued with the theme of Cornish female names and felt Senara would be the perfect addition. Senara was the name of a Cornish saint who is patron of the village Zennor, just along the coast from us, and means ‘light’.

Design inspiration

All our properties are designed with a high standard of finish in mind, and Senara is no different. We’ve taken inspiration from coastal décor, mixed in some beach hut vibes and added the Polmanter luxury touch to turn this dated bungalow into a modern, fresh and sophisticated holiday cottage!

Accessibility has also remained on our mind with this design. With a low threshold access at the front door, the house is all on one level. The property has been planned to ensure that it meets M2 accessibility requirements to make it potentially suitable for a wide range of visitors, including older people, those with limited mobility, and some wheelchair users. The grand tour

Drive in the main entrance, through the barrier and past Reception to arrive at Senara in the heart of the site. There is a driveway with two car parking spaces, which like all our other properties, has a 7kW EV charging socket.

In only a few steps, you’ll have arrived at the front door. Step into the hallway, and take a left to discover the three bedrooms.

The master bedroom features a luxurious kingsize Hypnos bed with a pillow-top mattress and en-suite with walk in shower. In the second bedroom you can opt for either the kingsize bed set up or twin beds – both leaving a spacious room with the bonus of a walk in wardrobe. The third room, is twin bed set up, and like all the other bedrooms, will include a Smart TV and Alexa.

You’ll find the family bathroom nestled in the corner of the house, in amongst the bedrooms, and features a stunning freestanding bath, as well as a walk-in shower.

Once back in the hallway, head straight ahead to the living room and kitchen diner. This stunning open plan space includes a huge corner sofa for snuggling in front of our 50-inch LG TV. The spacious dining table will host tasty meals, prepared in our well-equipped kitchen, with AEG pyrolytic oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and wine cooler.

If you step out of the french doors, you’ll find the patio and outdoor kitchen area, with spacious dining table and BBQ. When you turn to your right, you’ll see a pergola and festoon lights framing a 6-person hot-tub. On your left, the courtyard wraps around the house, leading to another deck with a table and chairs to enjoy your morning cuppa.

An extra treat

Did we mention there was a hot tub?!? I think we did, but let’s just come back to that. Your very own hot tub in the garden can be enjoyed by all 6 guests. Relax in the warm, bubbling water day or night with a glass of fizz or chilled beer and toast to your Cornish holiday. This can be added to your booking for a charge of £150 per week or £120 for a short break.

Dog-friendly

As with our other properties, we are welcoming up to 2 well-behaved dogs to Senara, at an additional cost of £35 each, per week. It’s never the same holidaying without your four-legged family member, so bring them with you and enjoy a dog-friendly holiday in St Ives.

So when are you coming to stay?

Senara is the perfect Cornish haven for up to 6 people (plus an infant in a cot).

Bookings are being taken now for 2022. Join us for full weeks, arriving/departing on a Saturday from late June until the end of October and short breaks from November – March, with changeover days switching to Monday and Fridays.
