Dogs at Polmanter

We want your pet to have a great holiday at Polmanter too. As dog owners ourselves, we appreciate that pets have their individual needs, and we always do our best to cater for Polmanter’s best friends!

We accept up to two dogs per pitch or self-catered property (at a nightly extra charge), and it’s lovely to see so many happy pooches enjoying Cornwall.

Take a read of our doggy blog, ‘Holidays with your dog in St Ives‘, for the most up to date information on designated dog beaches and restrictions.

Dog exercise area

Our much-loved dog field has had an upgrade, thanks to feedback from guests. It’s now enclosed so your dog can enjoy a secure scamper, and we’ve added a fun new agility course.

While the dogs enjoy time off the leash, their humans can admire the sweeping views from the top of the field (there’s a welcome bench).

Doggy play park

Energetic dogs will love our new obstacle course. They can run through the tunnel, balance on the see-saw and weave through the poles. Scan the QR code at the start to learn how to tackle the course like a pro!

It’s great to see so many dogs enjoying the play park, so be sure to send us pics of your four-pawed athletes going through their paces.

Dog wash

We’ve recently upgraded our doggie wash area, and it’s now undercover in its own little building. Steps lead up to a doggie bath, and the water is lovely and warm. As a luxurious bonus, we provide shampoo for all bathing and showering pets.

Dog dryer

For a touch of pet pampering, don’t just wash your dogs but dry them too! This newly installed doggie dryer gives the option of warm and cool air to dry your pet’s coats, leaving them all refreshed for another day of adventures.

Getting around the site

There are plenty of tethering points around the campsite and by the main facilities to keep your dog safe, including reception, swimming pool and outside the amenity blocks. You can enjoy a swim or shower, and your dog can relax too, knowing you’re just nearby.

We provide free waste bags next to all the dog waste bins, and appreciate our guests help to keep Polmanter clean by using these.

Dining with your dog

Eating out is easy with your dog (or dogs) at Polmanter. Canine diners can join the rest of the family in The Stable Bar restaurant area and the outside patio, where they’ll be made very welcome by the Polmanter team. If you wish to join us for our weekly entertainment nights, remember to arrive a little earlier as these tables tend to fill up the fastest.

(It’s paws on the floor at all times, please – the seating is strictly for humans.)

Public transport

Jump aboard! Our bus service, that runs in peak season between Polmanter and St Ives, is happy for dogs to ride on it too. Public buses in Cornwall are also dog friendly.

If you need to use a taxi during your stay, our Reception team will be able to recommend the best pet-friendly taxi firms.

Exploring Cornwall

Finding dog-friendly beaches and places to visit in Cornwall is easy – if you’re in the know! Different beaches have different regulations, so it’s good to check. You can find out more information about doggie days out in our Blog.

One you must do is a dog is to walk into St Ives from Polmanter, and have a good scamper on Bamaluz Beach, which allows dogs all year round.

Doggie shopping

Our campsite shop sells everyday essentials for our canine guests. Come here to pick up dog food and poo bags, as well as a small selection of leads and dog toys. On a warm day, treat your pooch to a refreshing doggie ice cream.

Good to know

When you’re away from home, it’s not always easy to navigate the simple things. We’ve shared some useful things to know, including pet shops, day care and vets, which should help with this.

We want your dog to have a fun-filled holiday, but with the consideration of others (both with and without dogs). Please read over our guidelines to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable stay for all guests.
