Christmas and New Year holidays at Polmanter
16th November 2020
After everything 2020 has thrown at us, why not end it on a high with a break away over Christmas and/or New Year in St Ives from the comfort of our luxury self catering accommodation – including our hot tub cottage!
Yes, that’s right. Our beautiful self catering properties are available for Christmas and New Year, with everything you could need for a self-contained holiday. This is the first time we’ve opened up our accommodation for festive breaks, so why not take advantage of this unique opportunity?
Take yourself and your family away for a relaxing festive break in a cosy and safe environment – with many socially distanced outdoor activities nearby on the Cornish coast – and you’re guaranteed to finish off 2020 with some special memories.
As we’re not located in the centre of St Ives, our accommodation allows you to hunker down in your own private space, with the option to visit the town should you wish to. There are also plenty of outdoor areas for you to use just outside your front door, including the site’s playgrounds and tennis courts.
What’s available and when can I come and stay?
Sunday 20th – Sunday 27th December
Our new cottage Morwenna is also available for a New Year booking:
Sunday 27th December – Sunday 3rd January
Kerenza is a stunning two bedroom apartment, that sleeps up to 4 guests plus an infant in a cot, with contemporary décor and sumptuous soft furnishings.
For extra luxury, why not opt for Morwenna. This is our newest self catering property – having only launched in August 2020 – with two en-suite bedrooms that can sleep up to 6 guests. The real gem of this property is the hot tub in the private garden – perfect to spend your evenings in, soaking under the winter sky with wine in hand!
Electric car owners will also be pleased to know that all of our self-catering properties have a 7kW universal charging socket – a rarity among St Ives holiday homes.
Parking is available right next to your property, so it’ll be easy to unpack all those bags and Christmas presents!

A home from home
Both Kerenza and Morwenna have many homely features and additional modern technology to enhance your stay, so you won’t have to leave your accommodation if you don’t want to.
Family mealtimes, movie nights and board game bonanza – the open plan living and dining rooms make it the perfect space to spend quality time together.
All bedrooms have Smart TVs fitted, so you can watch Netflix from the comfort of your bed – ideal for lazy mornings all snuggled up.
You’ll find Amazon Alexa’s across each property and bluetooth speakers to stream your favourite tunes in the bathrooms whilst soaking in the bath.
Don’t worry about packing all the essentials, we’ll provide the basics to get you started; washing up liquid, tea towels, dish brush, dishwashing tablets and Fairy Non Bio washing detergent pods.
And why not consider a supermarket food delivery to save you the hassle of doing a food shop when you arrive. We can also provide some menus for local takeaways so you can take a break from the cooking.

Deck the paws
Christmas and New Year holidays just wouldn’t be the same without your four-legged family member. All our self catering accommodation is dog friendly, accepting up to 2 dogs per property at an additional cost.
They can make use of the dog exercise field on site as well as the many walks nearby. Or jump in the car and enjoy the relaxed dog restrictions on our Cornish beaches throughout winter. There really is nothing better than seeing your dog bounding across an empty beach and playing in amongst the waves!

Christmas and New Year with a difference
There’s no doubt about it – Christmas and New Year is going to be different. The usual traditional festive events that St Ives prides itself on won’t be going ahead – including the iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks display. But that won’t spoil this special time of year.
Should you want to venture out into St Ives and the local area – and restrictions allow you to do so – there really is a magical feeling around Christmas and New Year. You can walk from your apartment or cottage into town (1 mile, approx. 25 minutes) and meander through the cobbled streets lit up by Christmas lights. The beaches are mainly quiet, making them a great place to stroll along, or do some wave watching on stormier days.
If its walking you enjoy, wrap up and join The South West Coast Path. There are some stunning coastal views to take in along this stretch of the Atlantic.
Food and drink is a must when it comes to Christmas. You’re spoilt for choice when you’re in Cornwall as there are so many Cornish food producers creating such a wide range of products. If you do take a trip into St Ives or nearby towns, be sure to stop by the local bakeries, delis and shops stocking local produce from cheese and chutneys to gins and chocolate. You can then enjoy these goodies from the comfort of your accommodation, cosied up in front of the TV with a Christmas film.
